Homestyle Stuffing

Ingredients

  • 2 loaves of thick bread, cubed, any type/brand/flavor you like

    2 small onions, diced

    ½ c.+ 3 Tbsp, Spurzile’s Homestyle butter, divided

    ½ tsp. Sage

    6 ribs of celery

    4 c. broth

    3 Tbsp fresh parsley

Preparing the Dish

  1. Preheat oven to 350*F. Grease a 9×13 inch pan.
  2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion, celery, and sage. Cook over medium-low until tender.
  3. Place cubed bread in a large bowl. Add onion mixture and parsley.
  4. Pour broth over cubes until moist, not soggy. Toss together.
  5. Place in a 9×13 inch pan. Dot with additional 3 Tbsp butter, and cover with foil.
  6. Bake for 35 minutes, then remove foil and bake for 10 more minutes, or until the stop starts to brown.
  7. Serve warm.

You can use any type of bread you like, we specifically like thick cut artisan sandwich bread. And you can cut the pieces of bread down to any size you prefer for the dish.
